Trusting God in tough times

As Christians, no matter how much we try to be always positive and give thanks in everything, the time always comes that we get weak and devastated because of the world’s heartbreaking experiences.

No one is exempted. We all go through pain – regardless of the level of the pain. Some people lose a loved one, some people go through a difficult sickness, and some go through a lot of financial challenges.

Jesus never promised an easy life, but He promised that He will be with us no matter the circumstances. When life gets really hard, let us remember what Paul said to Timothy about “enduring hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3).

We must never forget that we live in a sinful world. If we go through pain, this doesn’t mean that the Lord is far away and that He doesn’t love us anymore. It simply means that the world isn’t a perfect world, because we have sinned against Him.

But the Lord loves us so much that He doesn’t want to abandon us in our pain. He sent His son to save us from all our sins. Jesus Christ to reconcile us to God, the Father.

Christianity is not an easy journey. So many people in the Bible cried because of pain. But the good news is that we can always run to God whenever we’re hurting and suffering. God promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). He will always listen to your prayers even in the dark times when He seems absent and silent.

This is one of my favorite verses of all time. I have been through a lot. I lost a bestfriend who was murdered two years ago. My family went through a lot of different types of sicknesses and financial challenges. And as you know, I am having a very difficult pregnancy and a lot of financial trials.

But the Lord is good. The Lord is always there for me. The Lord has always been faithful.

I will continue to trust, believe and hold on to His promises. I will claim the victory in Jesus’ name. Amen!
